This course extends pupils’ understanding of whole numbers up to 10 000, including operations involving larger numbers and more complex mental and written calculation strategies. Pupils will also deepen their knowledge of multiplication and division, including division with remainders and working with larger multiplication tables. The course introduces fractions in greater depth, including equivalent fractions and simplification. In measurement, pupils explore larger and smaller units across length, mass, volume, time, and begin working with compound units. Geometry focuses on area, perimeter, angles, and lines, while statistics develops interpretation of bar graphs with different scales.
